Yay, the pool is open!
Horray! Our subdivisions pool has finally been finished and opened up with a small catered celebration. The kids were so excited! That is, until I stopped them before we walked to the pool to make them take a pic. Then they were like "aw, geez mom!" Anyhoo, they had a great time at the pool. There was even a kiddie pool for Rowan and Connor...Which I was stuck at because I had to watch them while Ian and Matthew splashed away in the bigger pool. That's ok, though...I'll have plenty of opportunities to sneak away and get some swim time in by myself before walking back to gather the boys for their turn. That is if I can get over my swimsuit complex! I think I'll feel better when I can relax about total strangers possibly seeing my surgery scar on my back. That and the fact that I still had stitches in my shoulder from my biopsy didn't make me feel good about exposing my skin to strangers so I wore a shirt over my swimsuit. I'm thinking those 1920's swimsuits are really starting to look appealing right now! I am glad the kiddies got some swimming in on Saturday because it's drizzling today and overcast. And yet, they still want to go swimming again. I plan to take them after school during the week.
Connor did something so cute the other day. Usually, he's up before Rowan and then begs and begs to wake Rowan to play with him. This time, after begging me to let him wake Ro, he ran down the stairs before Rowan came down and then started laying his clone troopers along the floor in a trail leading from the stairs, thru the kitchen and into the family room. When I asked him what he was doing he said "Making Rowan happy!" Awwww!!!! Sure enough, Ro came down the stairs and with a grin on his face began gathering up the clones like Hansel and Gretel while Connor jumped up and down in success and cheered him on. Of course, 2 minutes later they were having a loud screaming tug o war over the very same clones, but it was the thought that counted, right?
