Ok, not really chaos. More like my brain is obviously elsewhere. I made a giant pot of chicken noodle soup from the leftover roast chicken we had yesterday and dished it out all nice and neat but something felt off. The bowls of soup seemed lacking. Just as I was preparing to call the kids and hubby down, I realized what it was. No noodles! Can't have chicken noodle soup without the noodles so I dumped all of the bowls back into the pot, tossed in a pack of noodles and waited for "water to boil". Mini disaster averted. It was delicious!
As for earlier today, my first post (the "aarrrghhh!") said a mouthful. Rowan has been on a relentless crying jag all day. At this very minute he's forcefully climbing into my lap as I'm typing with this shrill, demanding noise coming from his lungs...Why? Because I won't let him eat from my bowl. He has his own perfectly good bowl waiting for him at the table. Of course, what this really shows is that I've obviously let him eat from my plate one too many times. He's also taken to screaming murder if someone takes a toy from him, usually in response to his having taken it from them first off. I guess he's hitting the strides of the "terrible two's"....Now, he's screaming because I won't put in the Bionicle movie...I really need to work on his bed time.
I will share something cute about Rowan despite his current sour disposition. Yesterday, around lunch time he suddenly went quiet and disappeared so I went to look for him. This is how I found him. Excuse the wild hair. We weren't going anywhere. :}
He loves the mini kitty condo more than the kitty does and is always trying to use the top perch as his personal chair to watch cartoons from. I was not expecting that he thought it was so comfortable that it would make a great napping spot! Seeing him precariously perched on top of the kitty condo napping away and in danger of rolling off and on to the floor, I did what any sane mom would do...I grabbed the camera! Then I moved him to the couch.
As I said earlier (and might again and again until I get the flow), I'm new to this blogging stuff, so if you happen to be reading this as a friend or family member, bear with me as I get my groove.
